This image was taken in the Sahara Desert in Merzouga - a remote, small dusty town in Eastern Morocco.

In stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of Marrakech, Fez and other cities I visited during my time in Morocco, the desert was quiet, calm and serene.

On this afternoon, I was supposed to go out on a camel ride through the desert with the tour group I was with, but instead was recovering from heat stroke. So I sat on the sand dunes and watched as both the sand and the sky changed colour with the shifting light of dusk.
